This is the synopsis of the comic I'm woring on .
Season of the Swarm
Like many people Jack Hillier has lost his drive. Once a respected Entomologist middle-aged Hillier now spends his days fighting off sleep for fear of the haunting visions that fill his dreams. The loss of a big government contract and the loss of his best friend (his cat Zies) have driven Hillier into therapy. Hillier’s growing infatuation with his therapist, is ...conflicting with his attempts to prefect his greatest accomplishment. Hillier’s attempts to design the ultimate biological weapon, a highbred species of locust that not only will devour enemy crops but their livestock as well, is losing government funding for lack of progress. As Hillier falls deeper into madness he wonders if his dreams are more prophesy that nightmare.
Hillier’s attention is turned to an all-consuming desire to prevent an inevitable nuclear annihilation. Hillier’s visions of a terrorist attack on a grand scale of mainland America and his own experiments fuel a spree of depravity and sets into action a set of events that will change the world. Hillier’s desire for success, his therapist (Mrs. Rotollo), and the idea of becoming a hero push Hillier to the edge of sanity.
A story of human desire for greatness, moral dilemma and self-fulfilling prophesy, Season of the Swarm is set in modern-day suburban America. The threat is real and channeled entirely through Hillier’s dreams; his only confidant is his dead cat “Zies,” who is ever present in Hillier’s dreams and waking thoughts. How far would you go in order to save the world? What would you be willing to lose? These are all questions that are answered with explosive outcomes; the desire to do good does not always turn out as planned. Will Hillier trade his humanity for the sake of humanity as a whole?
